It was his fault!
She was responsible for this?
Did you hear anyone say, “It’s my fault, as I simply was not paying attention.”
When we are hired, most of us are given a job description, list of duties, time requirements, benefits and are introduced to our immediate supervisor as well as the higher powers.
Were you told during the interview and hire process that everyone was responsible for everyone’s actions? Were you told that you are to help your brother and sister, even if it meant that he or she just might possibly get the credit? Why does this revelation sometimes take years to develop, not only in the business sector but equally in our personal lives?
Job 1:1..There was once a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright…….
Are we upright in our dealings with life?
Are we quick to point out another’s faults in order to protect our faults? Do we wish to make others look bad in order to make us look good? Are our actions deliberate?
What is in our being that makes us so competitive that we lose all sight of human feelings? Did we gain anything in this process?
As a manager or director, it is our resonsibility to recognize these traits in all of our employees and if there is even a brief glimpse into this realm, it needs to be addressed immediately. If not, it will only infect others and in turn affect their jobs within the company.
Have you deliberately hurt someone today?
How did you feel?
Have you become so callous that there are no feelings left?
We are told that if we cannot forgive, our FATHER in heaven cannot forgive us. It is so interesting to note that so many people SAY they do not believe in a higher power, but on the death bed or in the midst of an incredibly bad situation, they call out to him. Psalm 86:5…..For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you..
Have you been steadfast in your love of forgiveness today? Did you forgive your spouse today? Did you forgive your children today? Did you forgive your boss who ridiculed you in public today? Did you forgive a fellow employee today who played the blame game? Did you ask for forgiveness today for thoughts other than forgiveness?
So just what is this blame game? Quite simply, at times there are feelings of being inadequate for the job we have assumed. We do not like to be caught in an error of judgment. We just want to live our lives in our own little world and know that our way is the best, which, of course, it always is!!!!!!!!!!
We wish to feel superior in everything that we do and we like to think that we have thought of everything regarding everything and that everything that we do is right. You cannot help it that you are always wrong!!!!!!!!!!
In our business and personal lives, we must be willing to admit our mistakes, accept responsiblity for our actions, ask for forgiveness and move on. Please do not tell me that you are one of those people I have heard about who keep hammering away at something that was done wrong and you never let it die? If you are in a competitive situation either at play or at work, do you constantly remind people that you won? Is it really your football?
Our goal then is to be blameless in all of our actions. Think about what we are doing, what the consequences are and will it be helpful? From this moment on, we should only blame ourselves for actions less than truthful, actions unbecoming to acceptable behavior and for not stepping back to get the entire picture. Our servanthood nature will take over in our lives to produce lasting results in our fellow brothers and sisters.
Proverbs 12:15-16…Fools think that their own way is right, but the wise listen to advice. Fools show their anger at once, but the prudcnt ignore an insult.
Now, that really is a discussion for another day.
Blessings.
