Search Engine

Why do we search?

At this very moment, are you searching?

What turns you on to satisfy your curiosity?

There are so many innovations now it is hard to keep up with the mind of man, as  his curiosity is at an all time high and like superman, he wishes to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Just how high is your skyscraper?

We have become an informational society.  Who would have thought that a simple saying from a Sitcom of years ago would be the watch word for today’s society – “WHATSUP”

King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 1:16 tells us…I have acquired great wisdom, surpassing all who were over Jerusalem before me, and my mind has had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.  And I applied my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly.  I perceived that this also is but a chasing after wind.  For in much wisdom is much vexation, and those who increase knowledge increase sorrow.

You see we must search for knowledge AND truth and realize that all of this comes from above.  G__ has given us the tools if we but listen to his voice.  What is his voice telling us?  We are to use our gifts for the betterment of others and along the way  take those willing to join us on this incredible journey called life.

Can you recall the children’s story about the little engine that could?  Are you climbing to the top of your mountain?  Along the way, have you chopped down lives, burned bridges, or has your engine just gone so fast that it no longer has steam?  What is the answer?

First Corinthians 8:1-3…..Knowledge puffs up but love builds up.  Anyone who claims to know something does not yet have the necessary knowledge; but anyone who loves G__ is known by him.   Yes, my friends, we are known no less than by our creator.  And, just how are we to know him?

We are a society of can do.  We are a society of watch what I can do.  We are a society of see what I have done.  We are also a society of volunteers, a society of philanthropic foundations, a society of honest hard working people and we are a society of give me wht is due to me and a society of entitlements.  How do we make all of this work for the good of all?

We give of ourselves – one to the other.  In our search for knowledge, let us not forget the most basic things of life, i.e., the giving of our hand in friendship to everyone regardless of color, the stooping to help a child, respect for our older generation and helping those around us who, too, are searching.

Did you love your enemy today?  Was he searching just like you for the same thing but did you overlook his needs because of your own needs?  Would he overlook your needs?

In our search, we must take one day at a time and fulfill it to the best of our abilities.  We are to enjoy our lives but we are also to take others along with us on the ride.  Those of us who are fortunate must give back.  We must search out those people who have not had the advantages, not just things we can see, but things we cannot see, i.e., lack of love, lack of faith from the family, lack of understanding, lack of the push that we all need to better ourselves and yes,  a lack of kindness which has made the person in front of us not one we would like to know.

As servants, we are always searching – searching for the knowledge on how to deal with the issues of life, how to deal with our life at home, how to deal with our life at work and how to deal with everyone with whom we engage.  First Peter 3:13…Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?

So, search for knowledge to cure the world of its physical ills, search for better and safer ways to create energy, search for the right solutions for keeping us safe and search for ways to keep our planet clean and pollution free.  All of these things are our responsibility.  But, in these searches, walk shoulder to shoulder with your brother and sister and together with G__’s help, your search will not have been in vain.

Second Peter 1:3 – ……His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.  Vs 5 ……..you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self control and self control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love…..Vs 9…For anyone who lacks these things is short-sighted and blind.

Now that really is a discussion for another day.

Blessings.
