Responsible to YOU?

Get real!

I don’t even know you?

Why should I be interested in you?

What are you going to give to me?

Please don’t even think about it or let the words come our of your mouth if you are going to ask me for money?

In our lives, have these words ever come forth into the sunlight?  Don’t you wish that we could have kept them hidden.

In the world of business, we really have ourselves in mind first and foremost and do not think about those people that we can take with us so that we BOTH can be successful.  There are so many hourly positions today and there is competition for the 40 hour week, the right shifts, the right weekends, the right section to work, the right everything, BUT, only for us.  We come to work and gossip – what’s the latest with ?????   Would you repeat that again!  And then, it happens.

You want me to work for you so that you can see your relative who is sick?  Don’t you know that I asked for that weekend months ago so that I could go to Vegas with my friends.   Let me see now.  The person you are talking with has saved you many times, has stayed overtime for you when you wanted to leave early, this person has come in on his or her day off when YOU were sick, this person has given you a ride home when your paycheck this time did not cover the cost of your auto repairs – the list is endless.

Why is this?

When we were created, we were made perfect by a loving G__.  We just couldn’t stand it could we?

Who does he think he is telling us what to do?  Surely, there must be perfection elsewhere. Isn’t Adam a handsome creature?  Isn’t Eve incredibly beautiful?  Our naturalness is a thing of beauty and when we rise in the morning, we are still beautiful aren’t we and surely there is no other world but ours.

Eve, isn’t that an interesting tree?

Nakedness?   Shame?  Loss of direction?

We teach others to hate.  We teach others to believe the worst of others.  We laugh at a fellow brother or sister who is not physically whole.  We allow our children to bully because we bully at home.  We feel we are superior because of our address.

AH, the ladies and their shoes.    A sight to behold.

AH, the men and their toys.  It’s all just too wonderful.

No, you don’t have to walk with that person to school.  No, you cannot have that person over for dinner.  No, you cannot be seen with that person.  No, you don’t sit next to them in church.

James 2:8…You do well if you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

As a high priced executive, when was the last time you had lunch with the mailroom clerk?  When was the last time you told one of your clerks what a great job she was doing?  When was the last time you called your husband or wife at home during lunch and just said, “I love you and was thinking of you?”

My friends, all of us do not have the same education, we do not all have the same desires, we do not all get the same opportunities, we do not all get the large bonuses, we do not all crave attention, and all of us do not wish ill of someone because a promotion is coming available.  Yes, we are responsible one to the other.

Romans 13:10…..Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

Wouldn’t you like to have the joy of being a servant?  Wouldn’t you like to forget yourself for a moment and share that moment with someone less fortunate?

Psalm30:11-12…You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul may praise you and not be silent.  O Lord my G__, I will give thanks to you forever.

Wouldn’t  you like to spend the rest of your life as a dance instructor?

Now, that is a story for another day.

Blessings.
